Learning Gas Formulas

The main formula for solving gas laws is nothing too complicated. I actually found it quite reasonable. You can easily see all the relation ships and the explanation is very simple. The next steps are understanding different forms of the equation.

Phase Changing Graphs

I would say the easiest thing in Energy and Phase Changes would be interpreting the graphs. I always enjoyed a visual to my problems and seeing the relations ships in different atmospheric pressures is really cool. I also find it interesting that at certain atmospheric pressures certain phases are not possible.

Phase Changes

This unit is extremely easy to deal with especially because of how much common sense it implies. Its pretty easy to understand how much energy it takes and why things don't change when they do because of phase changes.

Gas Test Review

To study for this upcoming test I studied a lot of the 3 gas laws. I have gotten to the point where I am easily able to recognize what I need to solve and understand what I am being told. This should help a lot with how long it takes to complete the test and me accuracy too.

Air Bag Lab

In this lab we had to calculate the amount of vinegar and baking soda needed to fill a plastic bag enough that you couldn't pinch the middle. The vinegar and baking soda reaction you can remember from grade school days. I ended up not betting to do it because I didn't have my procedure ready.

Winning the Boat Race!

I have always lagged behind in chemistry because I am not so good with things on paper, however, when I herd that we had to design a boat I was ecstatic. I immediately got into the project. I didn't make our boat before class so I had to work with what we had in class. I ended up using the tinfoil pan and just attaching our motor to it. In 5 minutes our boat already made it down the lane. So all I did was cut off as much as possible and we ended up being one of the fastest boats!

Creating Bio-Diesel

Making the Bio-Diesel was actually a lot easier than I expected. Following the steps was a breeze, however, we had problems with turning up the temp on the Bunsen burner way too much. We also took a little longer than others which was a downer. In the end however we got our fuel made with no problems and finished the lab.

Bio-diesel Video Project

This project really sounded fun in the beginning, and I was extremely enthusiastic about making a music video. However, as we began to actually record the song, so many small hicups really made the stress get to me. Our eventual final project was pretty embarrassing and I was pretty burnt out, but at least my guitar playing was on par. I think that the project overall was interesting and fun, but I do wish I did better on the video.
